Eugenia (Jenny) CONEA

Passed away on May 13, 2012, in the Aventura Hospital, Miami, Florida.
Born on March 21, 1920 in Cluj, Romania. Beloved wife of Vilhelm (deceased) and loving mother of Mariana and Gabrielle.

Eugenia was a survivor of the Holocaust and Communist Romanian political imprisonment. She remained an optimist believing that all ends well and that everything could be achieved if you wanted it badly enough. The family came to Australia to make a new start in 1966. They lived in modest rented accommodation in Rose Bay while Vilhelm worked in Sydney as a cabinet maker, a trade he learned in his youth in Romania.

In 1994 Vilhelm and Eugenia moved to America to live near their daughters in Florida. They continued to miss their time and their many friends in Sydney. Vilhelm died on July 1, 2001. They remained Australian citizens throughout and to the end.

A memorial service was held for EUGENIA at the Riverside-Gordon Memorial Centre in Aventura, Florida, on May 15, 2012. Eugenia was buried next to Vilhelm at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery, in Miami.
