John Alvis Billingham

1928 to  2013

Aged 85 years.

Sadly missed by his family.

His son Beau, his daughter (in law) Kay and specially his grandchildren Trinity, Ethan John, Bree and Jai John.

Will be so sadly missed and loved by all of his siblings.

John’s celebration of life was held on the 6-03-2013  at Lake Macquarie Memorial Park, Ryhope.

Hi Dad, 

You`re been on my mind a lot so I thought I`d drop by and say hi and catch you up.  

Little jai is starting kindy next year and is going kindy every Thursday now to get ready, he loves it!

Your little Bree is doing well in school, it`s her 7th bday next week and is excited about her party, she speaks about you often and misses you.

Ethan just had his school carnival and came 3rd in running and is doing well.. He can be a funny bugger sometimes.. Beau took his quad up to your place and he enjoyed riding around the property..

I`m sure the neighbours loved the noise ;)

Trinity has the same attitude, probably a tad worse.. I can imagine you shaking your head at her.. she had a really great school report though, we were proud of her. She`s a smart cookie. Trin also speaks about you a lot and misses you..

All the kids love going to your place..

Beau and I are travelling along ok now...quite frankly its been a crappy 2013 for us..I`m sure you already know huh?!

Onward and upwards and hopefully 2014 will be our year.

We go up to wallabadah a fair bit, we enjoy being there.  I love when I walk in that I can still smell you, makes you feel closer to us.

Hey Dad. Ive been thinking of you so much this last year, at least every day if not most of the day. Katie had a little girl and James and her named her Abigail. She is such a sweetheart and I know what a soft spot you have for girls you would love her as we do. I hope you and James have connected and James hasn`t tried to boss you around too much because we both know he would loose lol.

Bree misses you emencly as I do and Jai often talks about you. Much love to you Dad from me and Kay plus the kids. Wish you were her mate.

Can you do me a favour and look out for Gram. We just lost my uncle and I know gram will struggle.

You`ll probably bump into my side of the family up there (where ever that is) Tell them all I love them?!

Beau saw your look alike yesterday.. was rather freaky for him. For a split second it`s like...There`s dad.

Good morning Dad,

It`s almost Christmas time - Another year without you. I`ll be sure to set a place at the table again for you, Dad.

Kid`s are doing well, they are week`s off finishing school - I dare say they`ll all have reports you`d be proud of.

Beau and I are working around the house today. The new carpet we got 2 year`s ago has been ruined so it`s all being ripped up (thank god). Finish off some painting too maybe!!

Dad,

I have your memorial page set up as a app on my phone (sorry my bible as you put it 😜)

So everyday I see it and when I miss you or something draws me to it, I open it up and read through everything we`ve written, have a few tears and move on with my day.

Having one of those lump in my throat, tears a flowing kinda moments thinking about you.

You`re the one person out of "everyone" who took me as I am, loved me for me. You knew what I was all about (a pain in the ass sometimes too).

We had our own very special relationship you and I didn`t we, I miss that. I miss you.

You`re my dad, you`re not "just" my father in law.

To my dearest Dad,

I approach this to speak my deepest thoughts to you, as my father , but my father. I choke.

Although after 4 years of you passing most days now I`m fine and accept life`s purpose of life and death. Some days I`m lost. I can`t believe your not here, not to bounce ideas off you or ask your thoughts through your abundance of experience.

I know you had a rough go with your father and you had been broken from that plus other experiences close to your heart, however I knew and know how much you love me, as I always showed you the same no matter what or in anyone`s company. If you can guide Ethan from your new throne I would appreciate it. My Lil boy needs some support mate. Our boy is a kind, smart and thoughtful boy. Ethan would give you chocolate not take it like Jai lol.

To quote you and I, forever as we did from nursery to adult me and you.......

THAT`S MY SON.......AND THAT`S MY DAD!
