American writer Dave Barry once said, "The only thing that unites humanity is, deep down, we all think we`re better than average drivers." Peter Brock is better than all of us. His supernatural ability made him famous, but his humility, his ordinariness is what made us love him. For all his approachability, however, he`s never been one to take the easy road. Please welcome everyone`s favourite vegan petrol-head, Peter Brock. |

Holden Special Vehicle, the Holden Racing Team and the Toll HSV Dealer Team express sadness and regret at the passing of Motor Sport Legend PETER BROCK. Farewell to a Motor Sport Ambassador and great Australian.
The HSV Family. Rest in peace.
Peter passed away doing what he loved. To Julie and his family we send them our deepest personal sympathies. Peter had achieved everything that was possible in motor sport and was a fantastic mentor to our youth in this sport. Since his retirement he has given so much of his time to support the up and coming champions and the Australian Motor Sport Foundations effort to help our youth in the International arena. They will miss you Peter, we will miss you Peter. You have given us all great memories to cherish.

Peter Geoffrey Brock AM.
As the promoter of Sandown International Motor Raceway, it is my honour to represent the motor and broader sporting community in recognising the contribution of one of Australia`s greatest racing drivers, whose influence on the sport and on innumerable individuals has been permanent and profound. Respecting the ideals instilled by his late father that recognised the importance of the family, he commenced his motor racing career in humble circumstances, where as a result of his natural talent, he was chosen to drive for General Motors to whom he remained loyal for the majority of his illustrious career.
During this time he also devoted his energy and experience to driver education and played a pivotal role in many STATE and federal government road safety initiatives, before which the use of racing drivers had been incidental to these campaigns and by his association and imagery, gave encouragement to the young to emulate the same heroic standards as his own. He that dedicated himself to his chosen career for forty years, witnessed a vast number of technological changes, yet retained a natural aspect to his personality that some interpreted as abstract, when in fact it represented inner or true strength and by so doing, attained an extraordinary stature in the nation as well as sport.
Whether one is religious or otherwise, we should pause for a moment and raise our eyes towards the Almighty and thank Him for bringing Peter to us and sustaining his outstanding contribution.
By his engaging personality and interest in others he gave encouragement to many less fortunate than himself. Australia and Motor Sport thinks of him with affection and gratitude and with open heart sends its sympathy to Bev and his family.

The Seven Network acknowledges Peter Brock.
We and many Australians first met Peter more than three decades ago.
As a young man he captured our imagination with his extraordinary skills at Mount Panorama in Bathurst. Over the years, he never ceased to amaze us - as a driver, as a presenter on our television network and as a man.
Peter Brock was an extraordinary Australian.
We will miss him. We honour him. Somehow motor racing won`t be the same.
And, as Seven returns to coverage of V8s and Bathurst, the race that Peter made his own, from next year, he and his family will be uppermost in our thoughts.
{just for you} gone from our sight tears in our eye`s the angel`s come and took you away we will treasure your memory`s in our hearts for ever in a day. may you R/I/P.from elieshah may walsh belinda walsh. gary henderson. peter paten.
I never met Peter personally, but when my daughter was 18 she entered her car in a Holden Car Show at Speers Point NSW and won a trophy.
Peter was there and signed her personal number plate for her. She keeps that on a shelf and will always treasure it.
His memory will live forever.
