HATTON, Father Cyril Charles | | Father Cyril Charles HATTON
May 4, 2011 Aged 88 years. Late of Regis Hastings Manor, Port Macquarie and formerly Bilambil Heights. Retired priest of the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.
Beloved son of James and Dorothy Hatton (both deceased). Much loved nephew of Mary Margaret Hatton, loved brother of Sheila, Margaret and Patricia and fond uncle of their families.
A Concelebrated Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of FATHER CYRIL CHARLES HATTON was celebrated in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Cathedral, Yardley Avenue, Waitara, on Tuesday (May 10, 2011) at 11 a.m. At the conclusion of the Mass the cortege proceeded to the Rookwood Catholic Cemetery.
I was Fther Cyril’s carer for 3 yrs after Fiona’s passing, Father Cyril was like the grandfather I never had, his sage advice and love I will carry with me for the rest of my life.. We spent many days and nights in deep conversation about all topics.. He was my dear dear friend, I am pleased to hear he is at rest at Rookwood, he told me many times that was where he want to be, with his Mum and Dad… I could write a book about this wonderful wonderful man. the loss of his beloved friend and housekeeper Fiona came as a terrible blow to both Cyril and I. ( she made me promise that after she passed I would keep an eye on him… as it turned out I needed him as much as he needed me… I was not informed of his passing which saddens me as I would have dearly loved to be present at his funeral to pay my deepest respects… Cyril I love you like a grandfather and a very dear friend… the world is a little dimmer without you in it… 2/12/2014
