Gene my young brother I am going to miss you. Now what am I going to do to fill in the day. No phone calls, Dr appointments, washing, scratching the back ,Going to Hexham Bowling Club for the raffles. One thing we have never done is to argue as they were our points of view on things. You had your moods but you ended up by saying *What ever you think is best Ginge*. I have Cheeky your bird and he will be cared for. I love you Gene. Missing you always love Lorraine (Ginge)
Love you Uncle Gene. I had fun with you when you werent sick and in hospital. You won a prize again tonight at the club one of thoes silly stupid things like you won before but it wasnt a hat thing this time it was a pillow as a ladybug. Nan told them the tickets were for you. byebye Uncle Gene. I think the back scratching is over now for me. x x x Beau the little bugger you know Nan is upset you have gone I hear her.

Always Remembered from Lorraine and Dianne your sister. x x x
Gene,
You fought a good fight towards the end of your dreadful illness.
We all thought you would be able to win yet another fight in your life.
You never gave up at anytime, as sick as you were.
As far as you were concerned it was not going to beat you, no way.
Unfortunately this was to be the toughest and the last fight in your life.
You won many battles in your life, but it was the war that you wouldn’t win mate.
You are going to be sadly missed by your two sisters, Lorraine who you always called Ginge, and your big sister Dianne.
Enjoy your journey lying beside your lovely mother, now you are no longer in pain Gene.
Your friend, Ian.
Sorry we didn`t get to say gidday to each other before you left this earth, as with your family and other friends, I mourn your passing and miss your cheeky grin and smart ass comments. Nugget said to say Hi, he`s grown a bit since you last saw him, passed the six foot marker and looks over me! It`s been great knowing you and spending some good times together, can`t ever remember any bad times. You have left as lasting legacy with all who knew you well. Go in peace my friend, we will meet beyong the blue horizon some day soon.
Your friend and old mate
John Irvine
It is many years since I last saw the Mason family, and my old friend Lorraine. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Gene, and I send my deepest sympathy to Lorraine and family.

Hard to believe that you left us ONE month ago.
I am still coming to terms that you are not in hospital again.
Little things pop up and brings back memories of things you have said and done throughout that short life mate.
Gene I always said I would look after you if the worse came to worse. Daileys and myself did that right to the end.

Definitely you wont be forgotten old man ya still our dad and we will only really have the one and that’s you. The simplest lil things like when I eat peanut butter and tommy sauce on toast or ya old favourite curried egg sangers which you use to put way to much curry powder in cause I like to think ive got it down pat lol / curried snags and mash / mong lamb which is still my favourite chinka food of all and silly things like when im at the super market and go down a isle and catch out the corner of me eye that pecks paste stuff which I still think is filth really don’t know how you use to eat that stuff seriously old man its sh#t if ya waved it under a blind mans nose he would say morning girls hahaha.but yeah I do miss you and ya lil sayings and funny comments you made. I do have lot of good memories of days up the bay and at the beach in the old patrol camping etc and some really funny boating and water sking stacks also ya taught me a fair bit about cars and detailing which you were the the best in Newcastle a bit of a wrap for ya there but don’t let it go to ya head which im sure it wont : ) so I was bound to pick some of that up still to this day remember ya brew of cutting and polishing secrets to a good shine ahh also all the finest lil pissy fiddley things that makes a car really stand out in a croud when its properly detailed also makes the end result really worth while. So yeah you will be never forgotten or all the things you taught me .you will be and are very muchly missed by us your kids.also your final resting spot is a great and really peaceful place you would be stoked with it .. From your lil prick of a kid luke
